There are several things that you must do to promote the health of your cat, and to ensure the well-being of your beloved pet. Taking care of your cat involves several things, including feeding her the right kind of food and getting the right vaccinations.

The diet of your cat is important, and you will want to ensure that you feed her a balanced meal with all the right kind of nutrients. You should never feed your cat on a purely vegetarian diet, or feed her dog food as this will not provide her with the essential nutrients that she needs. Avoid feeding a cat too much or too little, as this will also affect her long-term health. Cats need to have water readily available to them, so you should make sure that it is always clean and accessible.

Vaccinations are an important part of your cat’s health, and ensuring that they have all the up-to-date vaccines is vital. Has your cat been de-wormed? Are you doing something to avoid ticks and fleas? Regular vaccinations are important and you can talk to your vet for more details.

Although cats are not as sociable as dogs, they still thrive on company, so you will want to spend time with your cat when possible. Cats also need a comfortable area to sleep which is away from direct sunlight. Taking care of your cat will promote a healthy way of life for them, and ensure that your pet will be there for you for years to come.

Today it isn’t surprising anymore to see a cat or dog all dolled-up; in fact at times they even go to a weekly visit to pet parlors to be groomed and hair styled. A well-groomed and dolled-up look would of course deserve a nice, clean bed to come home to after a tiring day of being paraded around by their masters. How about a fancy cat bed to sleep in? Surely the idea just stirs the imagination of these pet lovers; their pampered cat would look so adorable snuggled in one of those unique beds they saw on display.
Out on the market today is a wide variety of fancy cat beds likely to attract pet owners who have great propensities to spoil their felines. Most of these cat beds incorporate the use of corrugated boards to provide a scratching surface for the beloved cat. Designs vary according to a cat’s or pet lover’s preference for that matter; lounge-like, pod-like, glass-walled (so that kitty can be enclosed yet seen), or a cat coon ( an all-in-one place for kitty to rest, scratch and play in). Since these types of cat bed are really fancy, price range is around $80 up to $2,400.
Some manufacturers however, appeal to the pet lovers’ penchant for practicality even if a bit fancy. Waterproof provisions for cats that stay out late at night, insulated bedding for arthritic cats and poly-knit backings to help reduce shedding. All these and more just for the love of a cat or rather, for the love of pampering a cat. A study shows that pet commerce is globally active in the market today, the United States being the leading consumer in pet care products excluding pet foods. The Europeans are said to be testing the manufacture of pet stuffs and accessories in order to take part in the global trade of pet related products. The notable increase of activity in pet commerce is brought about by most pet lovers’ tendency to be overwhelmed when visiting a pet store.
Regardless of its costs, fancy cat beds maintain a following of their own, in league with special pet treats and expensive pet toys. This trend may be attributable to the fact that most pet owners tend to be overwhelmed at the sight of so many choices found at pet stores. Somehow expensive pet toys, chew sticks, and special treats always attract their attention. As a note, cat pampering doesn’t have to go overboard especially if you’re an average pet-owner with an average cat.
Try using a dryer heated damp towel over your cat’s shoulder, it will surely make him feel warm and pampered on chilly nights. Making a cat bed as fancy as the one’s you see on display wouldn’t be too hard either. Let your imagination run beyond seeing your cat snuggled in one, instead visualize your own ideas and resources to make a bed as elegant as you want it to be. Surely kitty will be impressed by your effort and creativity.

Cats are independent creatures. They seem to have built-in knowledge of how to take care of themselves. However, cats still need their owners to provide general safety, health care, clean food and water, comfortable shelter, and love.

Here are 10 ways to ensure health, happiness, and safety of your cat:

1. Patience is required when training a cat. Ask advice from the veterinarian or local animal shelter to help solve a particular problem with your cat’s behavior.
2. Set aside time for bonding sessions with your cat. Cats do not need as much physical exercise as dogs, but they enjoy playing and cuddling.
3. Regular grooming makes your cat’s coat soft and shiny. Brush the coat of your cat whether long-haired or short-haired to remove loose hair. Otherwise, cats may ingest them, which may lead to hairballs.
4. Teach your cat to remove bad habits. With time and patience, your cat can be trained not to scratch its nails anywhere and to stop jumping on tables or countertops.
5. Provide complete nutrition and clean water to keep your cat strong. Follow the veterinarian’s advice on feeding your cat.
6. Spay or neuter your cat if you didn’t want to populate your home with cats. Sterilization also keeps your cat healthier.
7. Give your cat regular veterinarian check-ups. Finding a veterinarian who makes your cat feel calm and safe is important.
8. Do not let your cat out of the house at all times. Cats are basically homebodies. To keep them away from disasters, keep them indoors.
9. Register your cat. You must follow the local laws regarding pets in your community to protect both you and your cat.
10. Hang these around your cat’s neck: name, address, and contact number. Buy a cat’s collar with an attached ID tag where you put your contact info. This will ensure that your cat will be returned back to you if it gets lost.
