Horses

horse_eye_flies1In the summer, flies can be a great irritation to horses. There could be nothing worse than having a stream of flies around your eyes without the means of flicking them away. Many equestrian stores sell various fly and insect repellents aimed to combat this problem and to give the horse a little bit of relief. There are however also numerous fly repellents that you can make at home which can be just as effective.

Many simple remedies involve mixing essential oils with water and using it as a spray. Essential oils can be found at several stores including pharmacies and health stores. Mixing a combination of these oils with water can be a very effective fly repellent. Also, if you do not mind the smell of garlic; this is often one of the best repellents that there is.
