The Affenpinscher is a tiny dog which can even be placed in a bag. It is also known as Monkey Terrier because it is said to look like a monkey. Affen means monkey while pinscher a word which means biter. These breed of dogs came from Germany. They come in several colors like tan, gray, silver and black. Its fur is very luxurious but it does not shed so much.
The Affenpinscher weighs around seven to twelve pounds and stands approximately eight to twelve inches. They might look strong but actually their bones are a bit delicate. They can make very good watchdogs because they are not very accepting of strangers. They do like to bark which can sometimes annoy other people. They are very loyal though to their owners. They like to stake their territories and do not want this to be invaded.
Affenpinschers become excited very easily thus surprising or spooking them might cause them to become injured. It can grow very old and can be a very good walking companion. It is said to survive until twelve years.
