Turtles are cute. Kids love them but sometimes love kills. Kids tend to smother them and feed or water them too much. Thus it is important that kids should be taught the basics in caring for a turtle.Turtles live for decades if cared for properly.
Provide a turtle with a dwelling place where there is enough room for him to move around. Keep it clean and make sure that there is enough light and clean water.
Tap water should not be used but rather have the natural spring water for his drinks. Turtles need a lot of Vit D3 to remain healthy. Installing a basking lamp would also help him have enough light.
Furthermore, anybody who handles the turtles should wash their hands. This is to prevent the turtles from contamination.
With proper care, kids and the other members of the family can enjoy the presence of the pet turtle for a very. very long time.
